Remove Bonjour

bonjour.jpg

If you’re running Adobe CS3 Suite, you might already have the Bonjour service installed on your system automatically and it run as a system service:“##Id_String2.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B879762##”
(you can found it in windows services management)

WTF was that? First of all, I thought it was some nasty spyware came along with CS3 install file, after I’ve goggling for a while, I’ve been told it’s no risk at all, here is an official note from Adobe. It might not messing up with your system in anyway, but I don’t want it doing its little homework in my backyard and try to send any information throughout my weak firewall. Good news is that there is a certainly way to remove it from your system service and registry manually, say goodbye to Bonjour from now on:

1. Open a Windows command prompt and type the following command:
“C:\Program Files\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exe -remove”
2. Navigate to the following folder in Windows Explorer: C:\Program Files\Bonjour
3. Rename the mdnsNSP.dll file in that folder to mdnsNSP.old
4. Restart your computer
5. Delete the the Program Files\Bonjour folder

Oops! Illustrator CS3 Crashed while Print Spooler service turned off

Today I’ve encountered a crash issue with Adobe Illustrator!!! Actually It was not app itself, while I’m working on something in Illustrator CS3 and trying to save my file, it totally crashed without a warning, without a chance to saving any piece from your file… and it keep it that way no matter reboot the system or re-install the app.

I’ve randomly turned off some services that I don’t use frequently to squeeze any possible resource. I realized that I turned off Print Spooler service last week since I had rarely using any print service at home. So I’ve turned it back on, Whoa! Illustrator works again! Never, never turn off your Print Spooler service on your computer, otherwise Illustrator won’t work.

An alternative way to adjust gradient in Illustrator

As you probably know, when you’re using gradient tool in Adobe Illustrator, you would know that how annoying it is if you want adjust gradient color, you can’t just bring up the color picker by double-click on one of sliders (we’re lucky enough that we can do it with Photoshop). Using eyedropper tool to change that gradients, you will mess it up with a solid color. It really sucks!

Bittbox has figured an alternative way, it’s an awesome tip that eventually let you can quickly change your gradient color in a much easier way.

前两周刚升级到了最新的CS3了。感觉速度和稳定性提升最大的就是Ps了,其它的也都高于CS2,尤其是对于P4和1G内存的老电脑来说速度更为关键了。
